About Digibeet and Katten Café
Digibeet and Cat Café is the first and only cat café in Alkmaar. A cat café is a meeting place for people and cats, where guests can enjoy snacks and drinks, as well as the unique company of the resident cats.
But Digibeet and Katten Café is much more than just a lunch and drinks spot for cat lovers. It's also an accessible service point for anyone experiencing problems with their laptop, tablet, or mobile phone. The café is also an accessible meeting place with added social value. Our cat café offers a sheltered work environment for people distanced from the labor market, where cat lovers of all ages, with all their abilities and challenges, are warmly welcomed.
From dream to reality
Initiatiefnemer en eigenares van Digibeet en Katten Café is Doenja Bobbeldijk. Na jarenlang in de IT te hebben gewerkt, besloot Doenja haar passie voor de digitale wereld te combineren met haar liefde voor katten en begeleiding van mensen met een beperking. Zo ontstond het idee voor Digibeet en Katten Café, het eerste kattencafé ter wereld waar mensen niet alleen terechtkunnen voor een authentieke kattenknuffel en een overheerlijke lunch, maar ook voor advies en reparatie bij problemen met hun laptop, tablet of mobiele telefoon.
Aan de Ritsevoort 20 in hartje Alkmaar vond Doenja de ideale plek om haar droom te verwezenlijken. Het pand is volledig omgebouwd tot een paradijselijke thuisomgeving voor 10 voormalige zwerfkatten. Hier komen bezoekers voor het heerlijke huisgemaakte gebak, de beste tosti's in town, verse smoothies en sapjes en lekkere snacks. De katten zijn afkomstig uit Griekenland en inmiddels volledig gewend aan hun nieuwe thuis in Alkmaar. Ze zijn nieuwsgierig, aanhankelijk en echte gezelschapsdieren.
Cat Cafe 2.0
At Digibeet and Katten Café, cats and guests share a special place. All the cats in our café are true human friends and usually up for a nice cuddle. Usually, because they are, after all, real cats who decide for themselves what they want and don't want. That's why the cats have their own space above the café where they can retreat.
Of course, Digibeet and Katten Café is also all about our guests. They not only enjoy a bite to eat and a drink in our café, but they can also come to us with all their questions about their laptop, tablet, or mobile phone. At Digibeet and Katten Café, all your digital problems are resolved quickly and professionally.
